My days as a developer are numbered

In four days I counselled two business owners and three startups in the field of business development, strategy and marketing.

It might be time to accept that business is becoming an area I am more valued for than development. Having said that, it’s an activity I’m now actively embracing. Management has been a strong portion of my work via turning startup ideas into projects and then reality. The action of helping people build and strengthen their business is very motivating and I can see why a lot of people do it.

Key common factors from my discussions were confidence, perspective and vision. Strong vision to set the path, the perspective to see your environment and self worth that you can walk the path and the confidence to just make a start and know you can keep correcting as you go.

The world of management and business is an interesting space. I love that it is a much more open, positive and community driven place than I believe it was a decade or two ago.
